Overview

The Rod Mill makes rods ( rounds, hexagons, and octagons), bars ( squares and rectangles) and shapes ( everything else) in straight lengths up to 14 feet long.

Process

The primary processes are Schumags and Draw Benches. Schumags finish sizes about an inch and smaller in diameter directly from extruded coils by drawing, straightening and cutting to length in one operation. This is our most cost-effective way to make rod unless special tempers are required.
